Our Mission

The mission of the Children's Home Bhogpur is to see underprivileged children, especially from leprosy-affected communities, cared for, educated and morally nurtured to become well adjusted in today's world as living witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Overview

The Children’s Home Bhogpur was started in 1945 with 12 boys. Now it cares for 477 children, mostly from leprosy-affected parents. Parents voluntarily enroll their children in the Home at about four years of age, and the Home provides for their physical, educational, social and spiritual development typically until they are 18 or 19 years old. Admissions are based on need, with no discrimination on the basis of gender, caste or religious background. The children are cared for by a dedicated staff of Christian caregivers in a safe and healthy environment.

The Children’s Home is a registered charitable Society, operated by an independent Board of Directors.
The Home is funded through child sponsorships, donations and grants. The child sponsorship amount is $60 per month, which may be shared between two sponsors. This sponsorship covers the daily needs of the children including education and medical expenses. Gifts to the general fund help to fund children who are not yet sponsored and other expenses.
