The operations of the Children's Home are funded through a child sponsorship program. The sponsor is provided with some background information about the child, and every year a picture of the child and a report of the child's progress is sent. When the child is able to, they write letters to their sponsors twice a year. We encourage sponsor to pray for their child daily, and also send birthday cards and letters to them.

The total amount for sponsoring one child is $60 a month. Two people or groups could share the $60 in any ratio they would choose. (This amount covers the daily expenses for the child, as well as education and medical needs.)

At this time we are seeking new sponsors for all of the children in the Homes who were sponsored previously by a funding agency that has withdrawn their funding. That means that we need around 520 new sponsors and it also means that children of all ages will be needing sponsorship.

If you would like to sponsor a child at the Children’s Home, this is what you should do:

1. Send your name and address, e-mail address and phone number to the Children’s Home at chome@vsnl.net with a copy to Eleanor Fiol at eleanor@swissmail.org. If you do not have an e-mail address, please send your name and address to The Children’s Home, Bhogpur, Dehra Dun District, U.A., India 248143. Remember that it takes two weeks for mail to reach us by post and then another two weeks for you to get an answer. The Home will send you a picture of your child and other information. Pictures will have to be sent by mail, so be sure to send your mailing address.

2. If you would like to take only part of the sponsorship, try to find another person who would be able to take the other part.

3. Please send your payments as soon as you are ready monthly ($60), quarterly ($180) or yearly ($720) as you wish to Mission to the World at 1600 N. Brown Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043-8141. Mark it “for India/Bhogpur Children’s Home child sponsorship, Acct. No. 92656.” It would be helpful if you would indicate to the Children’s Home office (chome@vsnl.net) whether you expect to be sending your money monthly, quarterly or yearly. And please notify the Home if you should not be able to continue sponsorship in the future for some reason.

4. After you receive your first receipt from Mission to the World you will be able to include the stub with your next payment. Check to make sure they have credited it to India/Bhogpur Children’s Home child sponsorship, Acct. No. 92656. Or you can contact Shirley McLean at shirley1027@swissmail.org or call her at 678-823-0004, Ext. 255 and have the money automatically deducted from your bank account.

5. Please include the name and number of your child in any correspondence with the Children’s Home.
